Education is vital to the society in which we live. With the advancement of today's technology, it is imperative that today's young person has all the benefits of a strong education to ensure their success in life.

In today's society, that has become difficult with the continual occurrence in the public school systems of America. Students are finishing below average on aptitude tests, and the schools themselves have left being havens of safety, and have become more suspect for their safety in regards to the student.

Oak Park Academy was formed as an alternative to public school education. Opened as a ministry by United Pentecostal Church in 1988, Oak Park Academy has devoted itself to "Training up a child in the way that they should go."

Oak Park Academy has done this successfully over the years by combining strong academics with Christian character building to create the "total" student. The curriculum used by Oak Park Academy is called Accelerated Christian Education (ACE), and combines all subjects, both core and elective, with Christian character traits. By the time a student finishes their Senior year of High School, they will have not only earned their diploma, but they will have been exposed to over 60 Christian character traits that have been entwined into their curriculum.

Oak Park Academy covers grades K-12, and works with students at their own pace levels in each subject. Not all students, we have found out, are in the same grade level in all their subjects, our curriculum adjusts to that, and helps children who have difficulty in some subjects - while helping them to maintain in the subjects that they excel in. Oak Park Academy also makes mastery a necessity. No child is permitted to pass in the level of a subject they are in, until they reach a certain percentile. Otherwise, they must take it over. This prevents learning "gaps." One-on-one is also important at Oak Park Academy, where the student to teacher ratio makes it possible to work individually with students on their own specific needs.

These are some of the reasons that Oak Park Academy students scored very successfully on standardized achievement tests, andwent on to many colleges around the country - or started successful careers.
